In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Assalamualaikum.
It feels like they have seen all of this happening once before. It’s a strange feeling that what you are doing has already happened once. This feeling, this sensation, lasts for only a few moments and then disappears. And for this feeling, science has a specific name: Deja Vu.
“Deja vu” is a French word, and in English, it means “already seen.” It refers to something that has been seen before. From this point on, I will use the term “deja vu.”
What is deja vu, and why does it happen? This is a question in search of an answer, and today, some very interesting secrets are going to be revealed to us. And I promise that after watching today’s video, Insha’Allah, you will enjoy it.
But before we get to these secrets, it is necessary for me to tell you some historical events. Because the things I am going to share with you today, understanding them will become easier, insha’Allah, after knowing about these incidents.
In the year 1901, two British girls, who were teachers at a reputable school, went to visit the Palace of Versailles in France. In their later reports, they mention that while they were strolling in the back part of the palace, it suddenly felt as if everything had become still. Silence had spread everywhere. They felt as if they had entered a restricted part of the palace where the noise of other tourists was not as loud. So they took a turn to go back, but suddenly they saw people standing in front of them dressed in 18th-century attire. A woman was standing under a tree, painting something. That woman was laughing heartily at something, and surprisingly, she looked like Marie Antoinette, the last queen of France. They stood there, stunned, watching all this because they felt as if they had suddenly traveled back two centuries in time. But then, a man gestured for them to go back. And when they turned back, everything was normal again.
This incident later became known as the Moberly-Jourdain incident, and it is considered one of the most famous cases of a “time slip.” Time slips are those moments when people feel as if they have suddenly gone back to a bygone era.
But the Moberly-Jourdain case is not the only incident of a time slip. Today, after much effort, I will share with you some such incidents from around the world where people have clearly witnessed time slips with their own eyes.
For instance, in the early 20th century, a man from Scotland reported that he was passing by a church when his eyes fell inside through the window, and he stopped in his tracks. Because inside, it looked as if people from centuries ago were standing and praying. They were wearing old-fashioned clothes like European collars, breeches, and petticoats. The man was very surprised, and when he went inside to see them up close, the entire scene had vanished from there.
Then, there is another incident that an Italian soldier wrote in his diary in 1859. He wrote that they were fighting in the Battle of Solferino when suddenly he was hit by something. He fell into a ditch and fainted. When he opened his eyes, he was lying in a strange hospital where there were machines, lights, and instruments that he had never seen in his life. The doctors there were wearing clothes that are not seen in any hospital. In his diary, the soldier gave a very detailed description of the hospital, which makes it seem as if he had not seen the past but a glimpse of the future. Because his brief description is exactly like that of a modern hospital and its machinery.
Then, an Irish farmer was working in his fields one day when he suddenly saw that 8th-century Viking warriors, with their old weapons and ships, were running and shouting, coming to attack. It was exactly like a scene from a thousand years ago. The scene was so realistic that the farmer got scared and ran away from there.
Then, in 1981, a man from Japan reported that he was returning from his work at night. As usual, he was traveling by subway. And when he got off at his designated station, he stood there frozen because he saw that people from centuries ago were roaming around the station in old clothes. And there were old-fashioned boards like those used in the old Japanese language. The man was horrified, and he quickly turned back and got on his train again, where once again everything seemed normal.
Now, you might be thinking why these incidents only happen with the English. But that is not the case. Incidents of time slips have also been reported in large numbers in Pakistan and India.
Therefore, I will also tell you some incidents from here, but before that, know one thing: in the language of science, such incidents are called anecdotal evidence. That is, the evidence and testimonies that are taken from testimonies, cultural stories, newspapers, or personal interviews.
So, when we talk about Pakistan and India, there is a famous incident in the old deserts near Thatta. Once, a man was going somewhere at night. He suddenly noticed a caravan of some men and women sitting on camels, passing through the desert. But the astonishing thing was that they were all wearing clothes that had not been worn in that area for the last 500 years. That is, the attire of the ancient Mughal era. And it felt as if a caravan from centuries ago had suddenly appeared in front of that person. When he tried to talk to them, it seemed as if a fog had enveloped the caravan. And in this way, they disappeared from in front of him.
Then in Kashmir, there is a famous story of a shepherd who was grazing goats one day. While grazing, he peeked into a mountain cave, and inside he saw some soldiers wearing ancient armor, sleeping with their old weapons. The shepherd got scared and ran away from there. And since then, a legend has been famous there that these were some soldiers of an ancient army who were stuck in the stream of time.
Then, during the British India era, a British officer wrote an incident in his diary that one day, while riding a horse, he was passing through a neighborhood in Delhi. Suddenly, he felt as if he had reached a different century. It was like a market from the time of Emperor Akbar. Mughal soldiers, people in old clothes, and women riding on elephants. The officer became quite worried. And when he shook his head and looked around again, everything had disappeared, and the market of Delhi was in front of him, just as it used to be in those days.
All these incidents are what we call time-slip incidents, where a person for a few moments gets a glimpse of another era. And they see it with such clarity that later, they describe not only the scene but also the sounds, smells, and details of that time, which authenticate these incidents to a great extent.
Now, this was about time slips, and honestly, I have dozens more incidents to share, but obviously, one has to keep the time in mind. If I start narrating every incident, it might take several hours.
But apart from time slips, there is one more thing I definitely want to tell you about, because later on, all this information will come together and open the doors to many new worlds for you, including the world of deja vu. And that thing is OOP, or Out-of-Place Artifacts.
Scientists and archaeologists have found some things from different parts of our world that, when you look at them, it seems they shouldn’t be there. It feels like they are in the wrong place and the wrong time. And that’s why they have been given this scientific name: Out-of-Place Artifacts.
Let me give you some examples. In the early 19th century, an ancient device was found in Greece which is now called the Antikythera mechanism. It was a kind of analog computer which, after carbon dating, was found to be 2000 years old. But according to the technology of 2000 years ago, the Antikythera mechanism seems to be very advanced machinery. In principle, 2000 years ago, the technology to make it should not have existed. And if by chance the technology did exist, then other such devices should also be found, but that is not the case. No other device like the Antikythera mechanism has ever been found again. So technically, it has been declared as an out-of-place object.
Then, during excavations in Colombia, some small things were found, which are called Quimbaya airplanes. These are small models made of gold, more than a thousand years old, which look exactly like modern airplanes or fighter jets, or some kind of aircraft with delta wings. And the creation of such small models of jet planes a thousand years ago is still beyond the comprehension of scientists and archaeologists.
Then, the London Hammer. While walking among the mountains of America, a child from a family picked up a random stone. Later, while playing, the stone fell from the child’s hand and broke into two pieces. And they were surprised to see that a hammer came out from inside it. They sent the hammer along with the stone pieces to a laboratory for testing. And it was found that this stone is millions of years old. So how did this iron hammer get inside it? And perhaps the most surprising discovery was that the iron of the hammer was not ordinary iron but 98% pure iron. Which can only mean one thing: that someone crafted this hammer with great skill. But who could have done this millions of years ago? Therefore, this hammer was also included in the list of out-of-place objects.
Then, the Baghdad Battery. During excavations in Iraq, some vessels were found that were about 2000 years old, with copper and iron cylinders inside them. And archaeologists say that these vessels look like some kind of battery, which technically should not have existed in Iraq 2000 years ago. But there they are.
Now, since the existence of such a battery in that era is beyond comprehension, the Baghdad Battery is also included in the list of out-of-place artifacts.
Then, from ancient Egypt and ancient India, such stones have been found that, through carbon dating, have turned out to be thousands or even millions of years old. But they have holes in them in such a way that it seems as if someone has drilled them with power tools. And once again, these stones are also included in the category of out-of-place objects.
Then, one of the more surprising things is some aluminum tools found in Romania. Aluminum is a metal that is made with the help of electricity. It cannot be made without electricity. That’s why when the process of making aluminum was discovered, at that time aluminum was more expensive than gold. But from Romania, some aluminum tools were found that are thousands of years old, belonging to an era when there was no trace of electricity. But there they are.
Therefore, all these objects are things that feel very out of place. And it seems as if they have accidentally reached a different time. And this is a key for us to understand the secret of time because, after all, deja vu is also a secret of time. We are doing something, and we feel that we have already done this at some other time.
So, the first and most simple question is: what is time? In the simplest terms, the time that has passed is the past. What is happening right now is what we call the present. And the time that is about to come is called the future.
In the very early days of modern science, that is, in the era of Newton, it was understood that time flows exactly like a straight line. It can neither go forward nor backward. For 400 years, the world believed this, but finally, 90 years ago, Einstein stated that the speed of time can change. It can be fast in some places and very slow in others.
And the amazing thing is that the Holy Quran also approves of this theory. In two places, Allah Ta’ala has said that time is different on earth and different above the heavens. Once in Surah Al-Hajj, it is said that one day in the sight of Allah is equal to a thousand years of your counting. And the second time in Surah As-Sajdah, it is said that a work reaches Allah in a day whose measure is a thousand years of your counting. And not only this, but the third place, in Surah Al-Ma’arij, it is clearly stated that the ascension of the spirit and the angels is in a day whose measure is fifty thousand years.
Therefore, the Holy Quran approves that Einstein was right. Time does indeed change its form. The flow of time is slow in some places and fast in others. And from here, things start to get interesting.
In the last century, there was a great scientist named Erwin Schrödinger. He was an Austrian scientist. And he is considered one of the greatest geniuses of the 20th century. In 1939, Erwin gave a lecture at a university in Dublin. And in this lecture, he said that what I am about to tell you now, after hearing it, you might think I am crazy. But my studies are telling me that time does not have just one stream, but many streams are flowing simultaneously. Okay, you can stop here because in this sentence lies the secret to understanding time.
Based on Erwin’s theories and his studies, a completely new theory came into existence, which is called the Block Universe Theory. According to this theory, time is not like a flowing river, but like a frozen block in which the past, present, and future exist simultaneously.
Let me explain with an example. Suppose there is a book. On the first page of this book is your childhood, on the middle pages is your youth, and on the last page is your old age. Now, all the pages of the book are present at the same time, but at one time, you are looking at only one page. And that page is the present for you. While the pages that have passed are the past, and the pages that are to come are the future. Although, if you look at it, the past, present, and future are all present at the same time in the form of the entire book.
Let’s understand with another example. Today’s generation may not know about this, but people of my generation must have seen those film rolls that used to be put in cameras in the old days. And on which pictures or sometimes entire films were present. Now, in this one roll, the entire story is present, but at one time you are seeing only one picture or one frame. And that frame is the present for you. And it is the same that Schrödinger said, that the past, present, and future exist simultaneously, but at one time we are only seeing one phase. And my, that is, Furqan Qureshi’s belief is that sometimes our mind or our soul momentarily slips and gets a glimpse of a future page or frame. And when we reach that page or frame, we feel, “Wait a minute, I have seen all this happen once before.”
I believe that all possibilities also exist simultaneously within this book or block of time. For example, what would have happened if I had become an engineer instead of a doctor? Imagine you are in the fifth dimension. So, in front of you will be many doors. You open one door, and inside you see yourself becoming a doctor. Then you open another door, and inside you are an engineer. You open a third door, and you see yourself in some other country.
In the fifth dimension, all these realities are running simultaneously. You can go and see one reality first, and then come back and peek into another. And my belief is that the fifth dimension is the source from where dreams come. Because in dreams, nothing is impossible for us. There is no limit to the possibilities.
This dimension can be explained further, but obviously, we have to consider the time of the video. Therefore, the sixth dimension. Here things are not limited to just us. But you leave this universe and enter another universe. In one universe, the air is like our water. In one universe, people’s bodies are 90 feet long and their arms are 70 cubits long. I’m sure some of you understand what I’m referring to. In this, our universe, you can be a six-foot-tall person, but going to that universe, just the thickness of your skin will change into a 500-year journey. I’m sure you know what I mean here. Seventh dimension.
Here, all those universes exist that could possibly exist. Here you will see those things talking that you can’t even think about how they can talk. For example, there is a hadith in Majma’ al-Zawa’id that Surah Al-Mulk will argue on behalf of its reciter so that he may be sent to paradise. Imagine how a surah or a collection of words can speak, how it can argue. Just think. What image forms in your mind? How will Surah Al-Mulk argue? At most, the image that will form is that Surah Al-Mulk will come in the form of a beautiful person and speak, and that’s it. You can’t imagine more than that. And exactly that is the case with the seventh dimension. That there, such worlds and such universes exist that it is impossible for us to even imagine them.
Eighth dimension. This dimension is a bit difficult because here, those laws exist that govern all the previous universes. Imagine you are in a vast library where countless formulas and designs are present. These are the formulas that design every possible universe. And you will feel as if Allah has placed all the blueprints of creation in this dimension.
Let me explain with an example. There is a narration from Abdullah ibn Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) in Al-Mustadrak al-Hakim that both ends of the Preserved Tablet are made of red ruby, but its writing is done with light. How do you interpret the writing done with light? In the “As Above, So Below” season, I have talked in detail about the secrets of the ruby, but how would you interpret luminous writing? At most, the image that will form in our minds is that the Arabic is written in a very luminous and radiant manner, and that’s it. We cannot imagine luminous writing beyond this. Just like we cannot understand the luminous designs, formulas, and cosmic blueprints present in the eighth dimension.
Ninth dimension. Here, things start to become far beyond comprehension. Mathematically, in this dimension, you will see a kind of web. And every thread of this web will take you to a new universe, a new branch of reality, and a new world. Here, no possibility is impossible. Every decision, every outcome will be in front of you. Here, in one moment, you will see all your lives, all your universes, and all your endings at once. And to be honest, it is very difficult to go beyond this dimension because beyond this, that realm begins which a human can never encompass. Why is that? Because above the limit is the Lord of the limit, who has created all these dimensions. Allahu Akbar.
To explain that realm, that is, the realm above the limit, an entire episode would be needed because to understand that realm, I would have to tell you the story of the dimensions right from the beginning. The Throne, the Preserved Tablet, and the angels flying around it, and the realm of the Lord of that universe.
But for now, let’s return to the lower dimensions, or rather, let’s return to the dimensions of this world.
So dear family, the block universe theory can explain why and how deja vu happens. That our mind, in this stream of time where the past, present, and future exist simultaneously, accidentally gets a glimpse of the future. And when we physically reach that moment in the future, we feel that we have seen all this happen once before.
Then, the higher dimensions existing within the same time block could be the windows through which a person accidentally gets a glimpse of another stream of time. For example, the British officer walking in the market of Delhi for a few moments feels as if he has returned to the era of the Mughal soldiers. But after being open for a few moments, this window opening into another stream closes. And these dimensions could also be the doors through which some things sometimes pass from one dimension to another or from one stream of time to another. Which we later, according to our understanding, call out-of-place artifacts. For example, a 40-million-year-old hammer that cannot possibly be found in our world’s timeline. Because 40 million years ago, there was nothing here. But in some other dimension, some other timeline, in another stream of time, someone made it 40 million years ago. And it passed through the door of a higher dimension and came into our world.
As for the tenth dimension, it is Sidrat al-Muntaha and one of the secrets of what lies beyond it. And I would certainly love to make a video on this someday, Insha’Allah.
