In the last episode, we discussed Al Israwal Miraj, an amazing event that happened in the life of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

How he was first taken from Mecca to Jerusalem and then to the heavens above. There he talked to other prophets, talked to Allah, and even crossed the Sidratul Muntaha, Which even Gabriel (peace be upon him) does not have the power to cross.

He was shown Paradise and Hell. In the last episode, we were unable to describe Paradise and Hell due to lack of time. In this episode, we will describe Hell according to the Hadith.

Abu Saeed Al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) recited this verse of the Quran while describing Hell:

And We have not made the keepers of the Fire except angels. And We have not made their number except as a trial for those who disbelieve – that those who were given the Scripture will be convinced and those who have believed will increase in faith and those who were given the Scripture and the believers will not doubt and that those in whose hearts is hypocrisy and the disbelievers will say, “What does Allah intend by this as an example?” Thus does Allah leave astray whom He wills and guides whom He wills. And none knows the soldiers of your Lord except Him. And mention of the Fire is not but a reminder to humanity.

    (Quran 74:31)

When I reached the gate, the angels asked who had come. Gabriel said, “It is Muhammad.” Then they asked again, “Has he been summoned?” Gabriel replied, “Yes.” Then they prayed for me.

Ibn Ishaq narrated in a hadith that The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said that when I reached the first heaven, all the angels greeted me with smiles. They all prayed for me, but one angel among them was an exception. He did not smile at me, but prayed. Then I asked Gabriel, “O Gabriel, who are you?” Why didn’t you come to see me even though the other angels smiled at me? He doesn’t really smile for anyone because he’s a hell of an angel.

Then I said, “Allah has made you the leader of all the angels. All the angels obey your orders. I hope that this angel will also obey your orders.” You tell him to show me hell. Then Gabriel (peace be upon him) said, “O Lord of the angels, show the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) the Hellfire.”

He opened the door of hell and immediately fire began to come out, and hell roared. Seeing this situation, I thought that he would devour everything I saw.

Then I said to Gabriel (peace be upon him) that you should tell the angel Malik to bring Hell back to its previous state.

At the command of Gabriel, the angel said, “O Hell, be quiet!” and Hell returned to its previous state.

Zayd (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated in another hadith: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: “After entering the first heaven, I saw the children of Adam before whom the spirit was being introduced.” He would see a spirit and say that it was a holy spirit, and he would express his annoyance at another spirit and say that it was an evil spirit. I asked, “O Gabriel, who is this?” He said, “This is your father, Adam.”

When a holy spirit is presented to him, he says that it is a holy spirit. And when an unclean spirit was presented before him, he became annoyed and said that it was a vile.

Then I saw some people with faces like camels and stones in their hands. They were hitting their faces with stones every now and then, causing their faces to bleed. I asked Gabriel, “O Gabriel, who are these people?”

These are the ones who unjustly appropriate the wealth of orphans and children without parents.

Then I saw some more people, their stomachs were like the most horrible I’ve ever seen. All those people were being crushed under the feet of the Pharaoh’s people, and they did not have the strength to stop them. Then I asked Gabriel, “O Gabriel, who are these?” Gabriel said, “These are those who consume interest.”

Then I saw some people with the best meat in front of them and the worst meat next to them. They are saving the best meat and eating the worst meat. I asked Gabriel, “O Gabriel, who are these people?” He said, “These are the people who keep their lawful wives and keep illicit relations.”

Then I saw some women hanging. I asked, “O Gabriel, who are these?” He replied, “These are the women who used to call other people’s children their own.”

We got some idea of hell from the description above.  May Allah guide us to refrain from all these acts.

Today we are going to start our main discussion on searching for new land.

After returning from Taif, the Prophet (peace be upon him) began to suffer from a lack of security. Because Abu Talib is no longer alive and the people of Mecca know what happened to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in Ta’if. So it was not safe for him to enter Mecca alone.

So he sent a message to Sarais asking for protection. Akkas bin Suraish was a Meccan. He was on good terms with the Quraysh, but he was not from the Quraysh clan. He received a message from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saying that since I am a close relative of the Quraysh, I cannot oppose them. He said, “I cannot shelter someone who is the enemy of my friend.” He turned the Prophet away.

Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) sent a message to Umar. He turned the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) away.

Now the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) will send a message to Adi, and Adi is eager to provide security to the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).

The Prophet (peace be upon him) went to his house and stayed there. Ibn Adi had 6 or seven sons. Their father ordered them to wear special clothes and go to the Kaaba tomorrow with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).

Sitting there, the Prophet (peace be upon him) began to invite people to Islam, while Adit’s children sat at a distance and guarded him.

Then Abu Sufyan came and asked, “Are you protecting him or following him?” Then Adi said that I am not following him but providing security. That is, he did not become a Muslim, but he was providing political security to the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Then Abu Sufyan said, “Okay, if you only provide security, then we have no objection.”

Then the Prophet (peace be upon him) continued his work of calling people to Islam from the shelter of Adin.

After the deaths of Abu Talib and Khadija, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) noticed that the preaching of Islam in Mecca had decreased. Although people are gradually converting to Islam, Islam is still dormant in Mecca. The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) wanted to choose a land where he could freely invite people to Islam. For this purpose, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) began to meet with various people who had come to Mecca for business and Hajj.

He would visit them in their tents, introduce himself, and ask them to help him. Even before this, he had invited people who came to Mecca to Islam. If the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) had the opportunity to invite someone to Islam, he would not have missed that opportunity. But this time, the call is accompanied by another call, that is, resistance or Nusrat.

Previously, he only called for accepting Islam, but this time, along with accepting Islam, he called for protecting Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to invite people to Islam first and then seek their safety. In this case, it can be said that seeking the safety of the Prophet (peace be upon him) is not a political issue.

Rather, it was a kind of help to protect Islam. The Prophet (peace be upon him) used to tell the people of this tribe, “Look, I will not force you, rather I am inviting you.” I just want to protect myself from the attacks of my enemies. I want to implement the verses that have been revealed to me and rely on Allah’s decision regarding my followers. But pretty much everyone turned down the call. No one agreed to provide him with security or support.

Everyone said in one sentence that we cannot provide security to a person who speaks against his own race.

And his tribe expelled him. The fact that a tribe can expel its own people means there is something wrong with him, so we cannot give him security. Almost every tribe turned him away. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went to the people of almost every tribe. He mentioned the names of about ten tribes.

At the same time, Abu Lahab was following him. Whenever he would hold talks with a tribe, Abu Lahab would go and talk nonsense against the Prophet (peace be upon him) to the leaders of that tribe.

When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “There is no god but Allah” and “You will be successful,” Abu Lahab would come and say, “Don’t listen to him, he is a liar.” That is why the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would sometimes visit them at night or go to their homes to meet the people of the tribe. Abu Bakr or Ali sometimes stayed with him.

However, before going to the tribes, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) would consult with Abu Bakr because Abu Bakr knew the relationship between each tribe. They were looking for a strong, militarily capable tribe that they could stand against the Quraysh. Even though they rejected the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), there are still many things we can learn from these events.

Each tribe behaves differently. The Ansar accepted the Prophet’s words as soon as they embraced Islam. Because they came prepared. But the tribes of Banu Shaheba and Hanifa said We cannot accept Islam without any prior knowledge. Their chief Harissa said I liked what you said. They were impressed by the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). They said if you want to be protected within our area, we can provide that security.

The territory of the Ban Sahiba tribe was near Persia. Persia had an agreement with them that they would not harbor anything that could cause trouble. And the religion you are talking about will not be pleasing to the king. He understood from talking to the Prophet (peace be upon him) that Islam was a religion that was disliked by kings. Most kings don’t want to be held accountable, they want to keep power in their own hands.

But Islam came to free people from the slavery of this world and to obey Allah. That tribe was unable to protect the Prophet (peace be upon him) from the Persian side, but they were able to provide security from the Mecca side and the Barbary side.

Hearing this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “You have said what you have said well, you have not hidden anything, you have spoken directly.” But this religion of Allah will be given to those who are able to defend it from all sides. Well, suppose all the wealth of Persia fell into your hands and you could marry all the women of Persia, what would you do? The Bonsaik tribe was willing to provide shelter but they did not want to defend.

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not want to make a half-hearted agreement, he wanted complete security. Only those who have zero faith in Islam can take responsibility, who can provide security in all aspects, the Prophet (peace be upon him) was able to provide security from such hesitant people.

But what lessons can we learn from these events? First, Allah’s Islam must be given priority above everything else. There can be no compromise on Islam. If a contract is against Islam, that contract can be made.

Let us see what the condition of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was like at that time. This incident occurred at a time when the situation of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and other Muslims in Mecca was very dire. The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) was unable to enter Mecca, where he had no security, and his companions were being persecuted in Mecca. Usually, when people are weak, they try to survive with what they can get. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was going through the most insecure period at this time. If we were in a situation like this, the only thought would be to save our own lives. If someone gets the opportunity to seize power in this situation, it is undoubtedly a Tempting offer.

The two tribes of Banu Binda and Amir agreed to the Prophet’s In the proposal. His Messenger, peace be upon him, agreed to accept him as ruler. The Prophet (peace be upon him) could have become their king if he wanted to. But the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) rejected their offer because he did not agree to this momentary interest for the sake of the greater good. If he had been a king, he would have become the king of Arabia during his lifetime.

But then these people would later become kings over the Prophet (peace be upon him) because they were worldly lovers. Their political interests were not loyalty to Islam. They refused to accept the Prophet (peace be upon him) out of love for Tawheed. They wanted to obey the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) for their own benefit. But the Prophet (peace be upon him) refused to compromise, no matter how dire the situation. And this is the nature of relying on Allah.

The Messenger of Allah did not compromise in the hope of temporary success.

So we got caliphs like Abu Bakr or Umar who gave their all for Islam. Now let’s analyze the conversation of the Prophet Muhammad with the tribe of Banu.

The people of the Banu Sahiba tribe liked the message of Islam. They liked the words of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). They understood that the message that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) brought was true. They wanted to help the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) but they lacked the determination. They wanted to help the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) but they lacked the determination. For this reason, the Prophet (peace be upon him) asked if they would accept Islam if they were victorious against Persia. They could not fully believe in this promise of the Prophet (peace be upon him). Therefore, the Prophet (peace be upon him) did not seek any help from them. The Prophet (peace be upon him) wanted people who would only fear Allah and not any superpower.

Point number three: All the predictions made by the Prophet (peace be upon him) regarding the conquest of Persia were correct. We see that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) gave them the good news of the conquest of Persia, he was unable to enter Mecca. When he had no security, he was outwardly weak. And this is why they could not trust the words of the Prophet. But a few years later they themselves saw Persia come under their control.

And point number four, Musa bin Haritha later became a famous commando of Islam. But at first he could not be equal to the Ansar. This is because pioneers are pioneers. The first ones who stood with weapons beside the Prophet (peace be upon him) were the true Ansar. He didn’t succumb to difficult times, but rather came through all the times comparatively. We must remember that dignity comes from fulfilling our responsibilities.
