Nowadays, most people in the world know the name of Islam, but most people’s actions conflict with Islam. Islam is considered an ancient religion. It is said that Islam is a medieval religion. Islam is too old for modern society. The customs of Islam have no resemblance to the present day. If we follow Islam, we will be further behind the current era, etc., etc.
To be honest, not only the infidels but many Muslims believe this. There is a campaign against Islam, sometimes loudly or secretly, going on throughout the media. The Prophet (peace be upon him) said in one of his hadiths that Islam will one day become unfamiliar. That is, Islam will disappear from people’s lives to such an extent that it will no longer be recognizable. Those who practice Islam will seem strange in their speech and dress. This is exactly what happened during the time of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) when he called people to Islam, most of the people stood against the current.
Everyone looked down on Muslims, they became the scapegoats of society. It is really difficult to survive in such a situation on the basis of Islam. Who likes to hear harsh words about their faith at every moment? There we see that Muslims in many Muslim countries do not practice Islam properly due to secularism. A reluctance and suspicion towards Islam continues to operate. The customs in Islam will continue to seem strange because they conflict with the current way of life.
An Islamic scholar said that changing the norms of society is not easy. The prophets faced many obstacles and dangers while spreading Islam in their societies. They suffered and their followers suffered a lot. But it seems they could not be diverted from their purpose. Even today, the rulers are sitting in strong positions and have no courage to confront them. If you want to despise them, you will have to suffer. You will face severe punishment for this. When many people think about such obstacles and dangers, they retreat because going against the flow is madness. Based on the words of that scholar, we can say that in the eyes of some, practicing Islam is simply madness. Just like it was in Mecca at that time Today we will discuss those people who went against the tide and established Islam.
Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) is a unique name in Islam. Abu Ahmad narrated a hadith in which Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) himself described how he embraced Islam.
He said that we left our birthplace, the place where we grew up. I set out with my mother and brother, hoping for a new destination. The people of the Giffar region were going too far, even fighting during the forbidden month.
Ashirul Horum these are the four months that the Arabs considered sacred.
During these four months, they abstained from all forms of warfare. These four months were highly respected in Arabia. No one will ruin the dignity of these four months. However, the people of the place called Reefer were very reckless and their main job was to loot. They did not have any kind of spirit in these holy months and rules. Their main job was to attack caravans and commit theft and robbery. Their misdeeds spread their infamy throughout Arabia. Even before accepting Islam, Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) did not like all these activities of his own tribe. What was permissible for everyone else was extremely disgusting to Abu Ja’far (RA). He is like a stranger in his own land. So he thought of leaving the area called Giffar and first met his uncle, who was a member of another tribe.
Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that his uncle was very kind to them. But the other relatives could not tolerate their uncle’s loving care for them. He was waiting for an opportunity and, seizing the opportunity, whispered something in his uncle’s ear. They said that when you are not at home, Abu Jafar R’s brother Umays visits your wife.
Abu Jafar’s uncle, without thinking anything, went straight to Abu Jafar and his brother Umays.
He spoke very badly to them and Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) was very sad to hear his uncle’s words. He told his uncle that uncle, all your love and care has been wasted so far. How could you say such things against us?
Your kindness has no value. Saying this, they packed everything up and gathered at their uncle’s house. Then his uncle came to his senses and felt very sad thinking about these things. Uncle was crying a lot, covering his face with a cloth. But our verdict is that it is not possible to remain in any situation after such allegations. So we left everything and left there. Then Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) moved to a region near Mecca. He narrated that his brother Umay went to Mecca on business and there he met a man who claimed to be a prophet.
Umay came back and said that today I met a man who calls himself a preacher of a new religion. He worships Allah alone. Abu Jafra (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “It is amazing that I myself have abandoned idol worship.”
I have been worshipping one God for three years. Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) had pure faith, and they had no innate habits that would tell them what was true and what was false. Many people used to ask Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) how he used to pray. He replied, “Allah Almighty would direct him towards the direction he looked and I would pray towards that direction.” I pray the way God tells me to pray. I prayed all night until I fell asleep. Then I woke up to the sunlight. Abu Jafar (RA) asked his brother Noor (RA) how he taught Islam to his brother. Then Abu asked his brother, “Tell me what people say about the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).” People tell him he’s a fortune teller and a liar. He said, “No, you can’t satisfy my curiosity, I will go and meet him myself.” What people say about him may not be true. It is seen here that Abu Ja’af (may Allah be pleased with him) did not rely on CNN or BBC in Mecca. He decided to investigate the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) himself.
Abu Jafra (may Allah be pleased with him) said: When I entered Mecca, I asked the first person I met, “Can you take me to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him)?” Without a word or message, that man shouted and gathered the people of Quraysh. The Quraysh ambushed me. Everything that is there, stones and pebbles, keeps running towards me. I fainted once.
Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “I went to the well of Zamzam and washed my body with its water.”
Imam Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated that Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) stayed there for 30 days.
Because he did not know where he would find the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). Abu Jafar (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “All this time I had no food except Zamzam water.” Only a scientist from this era can tell if it is possible to survive for 30 days without any food. But the interesting thing is that Abu Jaaf (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say that at that time my weight had increased so much that my stomach was bulging. One day I saw two women performing Tawaf around the Kaaba. At each turn they touched two stones called Isa and Laila. The first people to make idols on earth were good people. Later, during the time of Noah (peace be upon him), Satan came to the people and told them that they could make idols of him and worship them. People think it is good to follow the path of the first devil by making idols of themselves.
A few generations later, when they forgot why they had made these idols, Satan came to them and told them to worship these idols. In this way, they gradually introduced idol worship. But Abuja Farah was always against idol worship and could no longer tolerate this kind of idol worship near the Kaaba.
He looked at the women and said, “You can have sex between these two idols.” The two women were surprised. Maybe they didn’t understand anything he said or they couldn’t imagine that someone would say such things in the name of their gods.
They continued to perform Tawaf as before, and when Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) saw that no one was paying attention to his words, he made another rude remark. Then these women had no more doubt that this man was talking nonsense about their gods and goddesses. Then the two of them ran out into the streets of Mecca, shouting. They came running to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and Abu Bakr (may Allaah be pleased with them). The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked them, “What happened to you?” They also said that there was a dead man standing there. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked, “What did he do to you?” And they said we couldn’t say that word. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) went there and saw Abu Ja’af (may Allah be pleased with him). He asked him where he came from. He said, “I have come from the tribe of Ifad.” Hearing this, the Prophet (peace be upon him) placed his hand on Abu Ja’af’s forehead. Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) said that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was surprised to see me because a man had come from Ifad in search of the truth.
Abu Jafra (may Allah be pleased with him) was a man of inquiry, and he could not accept anyone’s word. When his brother brought him the story of the Prophet, he could accept his words. The truth is that Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) always had a sense of humor. He never tolerated injustice. At one point in the conversation, all questions from Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) heart ceased. The truth he had come this far in search of seemed to have come before him today. He bowed his head before that eternal truth. He converted to Islam and is a Muslim from today. The Prophet (peace be upon him) advised Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) not to reveal his faith to anyone. But the very next day, Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) recited the Kalima Shahadat in front of the Quraysh of Mecca and shouted. There is no time to think about the consequences of this action.
As soon as I heard the Kalima Shahadat, the mob surrounded me and started beating me in such a way that I felt like I was going to die that day.
Just then, Abu Bin Abbas (RA) arrived and I survived that journey.
He said to everyone present, “Do you know which tribe this man belongs to? This man is from the tribe called Rifat.” As soon as they heard this, everyone left me and ran away. Abu Jafa (RA) and the resistance He did the same thing on the second and third days
Every day the people of Mecca would beat him up and Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) would come and say that this man was from the tribe called Rifat.
Abbas (may Allah be pleased with him) used to say, “Do you know what will happen if this man dies? None of your caravans will reach Syria.” The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) told Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) to return to his tribe and preach Islam to them.
When you hear that I have won, come and meet me. Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) spent a very short time with the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). So, there was no opportunity to learn much from the Prophet (peace be upon him). Maybe he was able to learn a few verses and hadiths by hand. But he returned to the place where he had taken them. He began inviting the people of that place to Islam. And as they watched, the people of Rifat began to embrace Islam. He said, “When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) migrated, half of my tribe Muslim”
We decided to go to meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and just then the other half of the people said that we would also go to meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in Medina. We will also accept Islam then. Thus, the entire Rifat tribe became Muslims. One day, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) saw a cloud of dust on the horizon.
It looked like an army was coming to attack. Some of the companions prepared to fight with their weapons. But the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, “It is very likely that Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) is coming.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) believed that this group was Abu Ja’far: The Army of Light. He was coming with his entire tribe to take the oath of allegiance to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). At that time, there was a fierce conflict between the two tribes, the Ifa and the Aslam.
When the entire tribe of Aslam learned that the entire tribe of Ifaq had embraced Islam, the entire tribe of Aslam went to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) and said that they too would embrace Islam.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) prayed that Allah would forgive Ifa and bestow peace upon the tribe of Aslam. There was only one person behind the conversion of two entire tribes to Islam, and that was Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him): He was not a great scholar, but even after converting to Islam, he knew only a few verses. But capitalizing on this little knowledge, he moved forward because behind it was sincerity and faith. And thus, through Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him), all the people of the Ifa and Aslam tribes became Muslims.
People in Arabia who never thought they would accept Islam, accepted Islam. Now what lessons can we learn from the story of Abu Zahra (may Allah be pleased with him)?
First, Allah guides the one who seeks the straight path. Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was striving to know the truth, so Allah guided him to the right path. Secondly: The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “Convey it to the people, even if it is just one verse from me.” Thirdly, Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was very brave, so he openly proclaimed the truth to everyone. Despite being born in Mecca, he did not hesitate to embrace Islam because he was proud of the religion. Another thing to learn from the fourth Abu Tala Anhu is to verify the truth of a matter correctly. The people of Mecca were calling the Prophet Muhammad a magician and a liar, but Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) did not believe them. Rather, he came to Mecca to verify these things himself.
Allah Almighty has given humans a conscience and intelligence, so people should use their own conscience to verify the truth and not rely on the media.
Fifthly, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said: “Do not consider any work to be small.” No good deed can be underestimated. Because on the Day of Judgment, even a small act will make a big difference. Abu Ja’far (may Allah be pleased with him) did not know much, but rather he presented to his tribe what he knew.
The sixth truth is that it takes effort to know, but sacrifice is possible for the truth. Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was not satisfied with his brother’s answer, but he himself came and verified the truth. Leaving your tribe and moving to another place to learn the truth
Nowadays, we are in doubt about many things in Islam, but rather than doubting them, we should verify the truth. Seventh, just as it is important to be cautious, it is also necessary to show courage when necessary.
In one narration, Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) did not come to preach Islam, but rather spent three nights at Abu Talib’s house. When he felt that Alidah (may Allah be pleased with her) could be trusted, he expressed his desire to her. On the other hand, he went before the Quraysh and declared himself a Muslim. This was a major blow to the honor of the Quraysh. It was a blow to their nobility. They did not dream that someone from outside Mecca would come and proclaim Islam in this way. They beat Abu Jafilal, but in terms of their hearts, Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him) was victorious.
And the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) did not criticize him for this act. So it is understood that this work had the approval of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). When the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) ordered him not to preach Islam, it was not that important to him. It was more of a recommendation.
However, Ubaidah ibn Jarrah (may Allah be pleased with him)did not do anything before the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) because when the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) ordered him to return to his tribe, he did so.
Eighth Abu Jafra (RA): He was undoubtedly a courageous preacher of Islam because because of him, everyone in his tribe became Muslims. But even though he was a preacher of Islam, he had one lack, which was about leadership.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said in a hadith that Abu Ja’af (may Allaah be pleased with him) was not fit for leadership.
A person may not have all the qualifications. Every person should find out his/her qualifications. And to serve Islam in that proportion
Damad al-Azdi (rA) was a resident of South Arabia. He came to Mecca and heard a rumor.
He heard a man possessed by a jinn talking about the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).
Damad al-Azdi (rA) was a sorcerer or a doctor, you could say. He could remove the jinn. He went to the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said, “If you want, I can remove the jinn from you.” If you want, I can arrange for the exorcism. The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) did not get angry upon hearing this, but rather he began his speech.
All praise is due to Allah Almighty, we praise Him and seek His help. Whoever Allah guides, no one can mislead him. Whomever Allah sends astray, no one can guide him. I bear witness that there is none worthy of worship except Allah. Allah is one and has no partner.
The supplication can be found in Hadith number 868 of Sahih Muslim.
It is as bright to hear as it is sweet to the straw. Hearing those words, Damad al-Azdi (rA) was impressed and said, “O Muhammad, will you say these prayers again?”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) repeated the supplications and he heard them and said that he had never heard such a thing before.
What a beautiful word, it seems to reach the depths of the ocean and strike. That is, the words are such that they will definitely influence people. The Prophet (peace be upon him) will invite him to Islam. Damad al-Azdi (rA)recited the Kalima in a moment.
This man came to heal the Prophet (peace be upon him) a while ago, but the Prophet (peace be upon him) converted that man to Islam. Many years later, a group of the Prophet’s army was passing by that village. Their group leader asked, “What did you take from these villagers?” One of them said, “Yes, we took camels from them.”
Hearing the words of the army chief, he said, “You must return the village because this is Damad al-Azdi (rA) village.”
They have received protection from the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him). We learn some lessons from his events. First, we are confused by some of the media’s salesmanship and propaganda. Thinking about how we will respond to their lies If Allah wills, their lies can work against them as they did against him.
He didn’t know much about Islam, but what he did know was negative. This can be said to have created a renewed interest in Islam.
Since he was a doctor of his time, he wanted to serve the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
He came for one purpose and returned a different person.
One thing to remember is that leave everything in the hands of Allah. If He wills, He can bring good out of evil. Our responsibility in work is to trust in Allah and not fear the enemies of Islam.
Lesson number two: Damad al-Azdi (rA) said he wanted to treat the Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
Because he thought he was a patient, this was quite insulting to a healthy, strong person. But none of this happened before the Prophet (peace be upon him) got angry. This very wise and patient man realized that perhaps the man had misunderstood him. In this case, the lesson for the preachers of Islam is patience and not to make any hasty decisions without hearing wrong news from people.
Thirdly, the supplication that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) made was very short but very significant.
This prayer is called Qutbatul Khwaja. The prayer was also a Dawah, If we can deeply understand.
Sahih Muslim narrates the story of a companion named amr ibn abasa.
He was a native of Arabia and amr ibn abasa narrated the story of his conversion to Islam in his own words.
He recounts that he had previously believed that the people of his tribe were practicing the wrong religion. I never believed in their idol worship. I never believed in their idol worship. Suddenly one day I heard that a man was preaching a new religion in Mecca, so I rode a camel and went to meet him secretly.
The situation in Mecca at that time was so difficult that no one could meet the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) in public. I met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked him who he was. He replied, “I am a prophet.” I asked what it meant. He replied, “It means that I have been sent by Allah.” I asked what he sent you with. He sent me with the message that He alone should be worshipped and no one should be associated with Him. All idols must be destroyed and kinship ties must be preserved. I said, “Can I follow you?” The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was far-sighted. He replied, “Can’t you see what has happened to me?” Return to your people. When you hear that I have been victorious, come to me. The Prophet (peace be upon him) knew that he would be victorious, so he ordered me to practice Islam secretly. I returned but I kept in touch with the Prophet (peace be upon him) regularly.
I used to ask Musa bin what was the news of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
Then one day I heard that the Prophet (peace be upon him) had conquered Medina. I reached Medina and met the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and asked him if he recognized me. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, “Yes, I recognize you. You are the one who met me in Mecca.” This quality is very important for leadership that a leader must know his subordinates very well.
Then amr ibn abasa said, “O Messenger of Allah, teach me from the knowledge that Allah has given you.” Tell me about prayer. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught him prayer. Tell me about prayer. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught him prayer. Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught him the method of performing ablution. In this way, the Prophet (peace be upon him) occupied a unique place in the mind of an ordinary person.
We learn a few lessons from this incident. We discussed Hanifa earlier. Those who disliked the polytheism of Mecca at that time and were subordinate to Tawheed.
amr ibn abasa said he hated idolatry. That is, he was one of the Hanifs. Secondly: The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) mentioned two things: one is the right of Allah and the second is the right of the servant. The right of Allah is to not associate anyone with Him, and the right of the monkey is to maintain relations with relatives.
The third Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) is saying here that idols should be destroyed. Yet we know that the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) did not destroy any idols during his life in Mecca. He had a war of words against idol worship, yet why did he talk about destroying idols? This means that if Muslims are unable to carry out a commandment, that commandment cannot be abrogated. The Prophet (peace be upon him) came to destroy the idols, but he did not have the strength to do so while living in Mecca.
But the Quraysh knew that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) would destroy all their idols today or tomorrow. And this is why they opposed the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) from the very first day. Muslims should be careful about their Islam. If they lack any of these qualities, they cannot disobey the commands of Islam. The Fourth Prophet (peace be upon him) was concerned about the safety of his followers. That’s why he told Amar to keep his conversion to Islam a secret.
Tufail embraced Islam at a time when the people of Mecca were ruling over people coming from outside Mecca in such a way that they were not allowed to speak to the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him).
Tofal was a poet from the tribe of David outside Mecca.
Tofal himself tells the story of his conversion to Islam. He says that he once came to Mecca. While he was wandering around, some Quraysh came to him and said, “We are very happy that you have come to our country, but be careful with this man of yours, we are in danger because of this man.” This man has destroyed our unity and created chaos within our religion. His words are like magic, causing conflict between fathers, sons, husbands, wives, brothers and sisters. We are afraid that he may put your family in the same danger that he put us in. So you never listen to him.
Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) said, “By Allah, they followed me like this.” So I decided that I would not talk to him and would avoid him. One day when I went to the Kaaba, I saw the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) praying. But Allah Almighty wanted me to hear some of his words.
I told myself that I would listen to what he said, if it was good I would accept it, and if it was bad I would reject it. I waited until the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) left for his house, then I followed him to his house and said to him, “O Messenger of Allah, your people say all these things about you.” By Allah, I was so afraid of you that I felt like I had cotton in my ears. As a result, I can’t hear you. But Allah wanted something different. He would make me hear your words. I have heard a sweet word, so please explain your religion to me.
He introduced Islam to me and recited the Quran to me. By the light, I have never heard such sweet words before. And I couldn’t find such a balanced religious system. I immediately accepted Islam and bore witness to the truth. Then I said, “O Prophet of Allah, I am a respected man from my tribe. I will return to them and invite them to Islam.” Please pray to Allah to give me a sign that will enable me to spread the call to Islam.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “O Allah, give him a sign.” Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) narrates that when I set out for house, a light shone in front of me in the middle of a pass. There’s a caravan waiting for water. I prayed to Allah to change my appearance. I was afraid that people would think that my appearance was disfigured because of my apostasy. The light came over me like a lantern and I went down and joined the caravan. After I returned home, my father came to me and I told him, ” don’t come to me because now you are not mine or I am not yours.” My father asked why, and I replied, “Because I converted to Islam.”
Because I have embraced Islam and the religion of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) Then my father said that your religion is my religion. Then I told him, okay, you go and get your clothes purified. I will teach you what I have learned. He came back after taking a bath and became pure, then I introduced Islam to him.
As a result, he converted to Islam. Then my wife came to see me and I told her to stay away from me because from now on you are not mine and I am not yours. She asked why. I replied because I have converted to Islam. Then he said, “Your religion is my religion.” Then I said, “Then go and purify yourself with the Jusrar water.”
Then I presented the message of Islam to my wife and she accepted it. Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Then I presented the invitation to Islam to my tribe, but they were slow to respond.”
Then I returned to Mecca and said to the Messenger of Allah, “O Prophet of Allah, the tribe of Daws is drowning in ignorance. Please pray for their destruction.”
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “O Allah, guide the tribe of David.”
Then he told me that Tofail had returned to tribe and given them back.
And remain humble in Dawah work. Tufail (may Allah be pleased with him) said: “Then I returned to my tribe and continued to preach Islam. The battles of Badr and Uhud had already taken place.” Then I set out to meet the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and in this group were all those who had embraced Islam.
At that time, the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) was staying at the edge of Khaibar. I arrived Macca with seventy to eighty tribes or families. Later we went to Khaibar and met the Messenger of Allah.
The story of the next companion is Hussain (RA). The Quraysh greatly respected a man named Al-Husayn. Because he was a very wise and intelligent person.
He was outside Mecca. The Quraysh thought that since no one from Mecca could convince the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him), they should bring someone from outside Mecca this time. They chose Al Hussein. They went and said, “Hussain, you explain to Muhammad (PBUH) that he talks nonsense about our gods and goddesses.” They set out with Hussain and took him to the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and waited outside. Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) entered the house of the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) and said to him, “What is this that I hear in your name?” You are talking nonsense in the name of our gods and goddesses, but your father was a very good man.
The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) replied, “Both my father and your father are in Hell. How many gods do you worship?”
I replied, “Seven in the sky and seven under the earth.”
The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said, “When you are in trouble, I replied, “The sky, the one who exists.” Then he asked, “Who do you call upon when your wealth is in short supply?” I answered him who is in the sky. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) replied, “How can you associate partners with the one who responds to your call?”
At one point in the discussion, the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, “O Hussain, if you accept Islam, you will be safe.”
Then Hussain (RA) said, “My tribe is with me, what should I answer them?” Then the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) taught him a supplication: “O Allah, guide me so that my affairs become easy.”
And increase in me knowledge that will benefit me. Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) immediately made that supplication and Allah immediately accepted it. Before the meeting ended, Hussain (may Allah be pleased with him) accepted Islam and stood up after the meeting ended. Seeing this scene, Hussein’s son kissed his feet and forehead. Seeing this scene, the Prophet (peace be upon him) explained why he was crying by saying that Hussain came as a non-Muslim but returned as a Muslim and his son Imran, who fulfilled his father’s rights,
The five companions we discussed today came from outside Mecca. Couldn’t the propaganda of the Quraysh stop them from accepting Islam.
So our first duty is to try to understand Islam honestly and sincerely. Islam should be understood in the way Allah Almighty revealed it, not in imitation of the Western world. If we are honest about Islam, Allah will surely guide us.
