After the Treaty of Hudaybiyah, the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) sent letters to the kings of the surrounding regions inviting them to Islam. The Quraysh had already lost the psychological war to the Muslims.
In this context, in the eighth year of the Hijri, three prominent men or important people of the Quraysh decided to embrace Islam. First, we will discuss the story of Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him). He himself narrated that he fought against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the Battle of Badr. Then I fought against the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) in the Battle of Uhud. Then I fought against the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) in the Battle of the Trench.
Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) was a far-sighted politician who understood that the Quraysh were becoming more and more powerful. He decided that he would go to Abu Siniya. Finally, he set off on the road to Abu Siniya, taking with him several skins. He went to the court of Emperor Abu Senior and saw the companions of the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) coming out of it. Then Abu Sinyar’s emperor, Negus, received him at his headquarters.
Then Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) said to the Emperor Natarshi that if you want, I can kill the man who just left your court because he is our enemy. Then the Emperor got angry and said to him, should I order you to kill a man to whom Gabriel (peace be upon him) constantly visits? Hearing this, Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) became very ashamed and accepted Islam from Emperor Najshi. But this whole incident happened in great secrecy.
Then he set out for Medina and met two other people on the way. Two of them were respectively Khalid ibn Walid and Uthman ibn Talha. He asked them where they were going. Khalid replied, “We are going to the Messenger of Allah.” He was indeed the Messenger of Allah.
They set off together for Medina, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) had already heard of their arrival. He was waiting to receive them warmly, but these same people had wanted to kill him a few days earlier and had driven him out of Mecca.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) converted three people to Islam one by one. The Prophet (peace be upon him) took great care of Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) and always inquired about Amr ibn al-As (may Allah be pleased with him) welfare.
Now we will discuss the story of Khalid ibn Walid conversion to Islam. He himself describes that I was one of the main enemies of Islam. When the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) arrived at Hudaibiyah, I went out with 200 soldiers to kill him and I caught up with him but for some reason I could not kill him. After the Treaty of Hudaybiyah, he became very lonely. Khalid ibn Walid started thinking about where he should go and who he should go to. The following year, when the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) came to Mecca to perform Umrah, Khalid ibn Walid was not pleased with the sight and fled. On the other hand, his brother wrote a letter for him.
The letter read, “In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. I don’t understand why you have such hatred for Islam. The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) asked about you. I replied, “I just want to pray for you.” Khalid ibn Walid read the letter and said, “Then my heart changed and I became eager to embrace Islam.”
From the above incident, we learn that guidance is only the will of Allah. He guides or shows the way to whomever He wills.
Now we will discuss the letter sent by the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the international community.
The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) chose The handsome companion Bihal (may Allah be pleased with him) the Roman emperor of that time, whose name was Heraclius, to send a letter to him. While he was in power, the Romans were repeatedly defeated in wars with the Persians.
When Heraclius conquered the Persian Empire, a letter from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) reached him, and it was written in that letter that:
Bismillah, Rahmanir, Rahim. This letter is from the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, to the Heraclius. Peace be upon those who follow the true path. I call you to Islam and surrender and embrace Islam. You will find security and Allah will expand you. If you refuse, the responsibility will fall on you. Then a verse from Surah Al Imran was added there.
Heraclius He started sweating after reading the letter. He started sweating after reading the letter.
But Abu Sufyan was passing by at that time. Then the emperor’s people brought Abu Sufyan to the court. After he appeared in the court, the emperor asked Abu Sufyan some questions and Abu Sufyan answered him correctly. Hearing this, the emperor realized that Islam was the true religion.
However, this knowledge was of no use to Heraclius because he did not ultimately convert to Islam in order to retain power.
Next we will discuss the letter of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) to the Persian Emperor. Was the letter sent to the Persian Emperor sent to Baharain and then sent from there to Persia. The emperor was very angry upon receiving the letter and sent an army to arrest the Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him). But the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) told the army leader that your kingdom would soon fall. That’s exactly what happened, within a few years the Muslims took over the Persian Empire.
Now we will discuss the significance of these letters. These letters indicate the rise of Islam. The purpose of these letters was to inform everyone about the expansion policy of Islam. These were brief but significant.
