Badr changed the balance<\/h2>\n

The Muslim victory at Badr in 2 AH strengthened Madinah’s position but did not end conflict with Quraysh. Families in Makkah had lost relatives and leaders, trade routes remained contested, and both communities expected further confrontation.<\/p>\n

Surah al-Anfal addressed immediate questions about captives and property after Badr. Quran 8:67\u201369<\/a> discusses the prisoner decision, while 8:1<\/a> redirects disagreement over spoils toward communal discipline.<\/p>\n

Security and alliances around Madinah<\/h2>\n

Later biographies list patrols, caravan encounters and agreements during this period. These reports help explain the strategic setting, but not every outing became a battle and not every stated number is equally reliable. \u201cExpedition\u201d should therefore not automatically be translated as major warfare.<\/p>\n

The period also included a conflict with Banu Qaynuqa, a Jewish clan in Madinah. Detailed causes and speeches come mainly from later historical works. A responsible account names the specific clan and political dispute rather than transferring blame to Jewish people as a whole.<\/p>\n

Quraysh prepares to return<\/h2>\n

Quraysh assembled a larger force for a new campaign against Madinah. Quran 3:121<\/a> opens the Quranic account of Uhud with the Prophet leaving his household to position believers for battle. The verse places the next episode in a setting of deliberate preparation, not a sudden isolated clash.<\/p>\n
